2012 - Memorial Day Salute

May 25, 2012

Wow!  What a busy couple of weeks.   It is hard to believe it is already Memorial Day.    It seems it was just yesterday it was December.

The season of critters has really never slowed this year.  It is due to the mild winter.  We have found that squirrels and raccoons have mated earlier than most other years.  With plenty of food sources available due to the rainy winter and early spring, there is nothing stopping them.   The geese too have paired up earlier than every this year.  Geese cannot be managed until mid-March, but, we were receiving complaints by mid-February.

Memorial Day was originally set aside to remember all of the men and women who lost their lives fighting for our freedoms.  Originally this day was call Decoration Day and was held on May 30th.  In 1971, the Uniforms Holidays Bill was put into effect which moved Memorial Day to the last Monday in May.

Memorial Day is the start summer activities. The kids will be out of school soon.  Vacations are planned.  It is time for graduations, picnics, and grill outs. You don't need your summer plans to be interrupted by squirrels, raccoons, or skunks crashing in on the fun.   If you have a problem, and need any type of wildlife removal, please give us a call.

To honor our fallen heroes, Wildlife Removal Services will offer a 15% discount off a service call when you mention this blog.  If you have a nuisance wildlife problem give call us at 513-479-7271 and mention this blog to Jay, and he will discount the service call by 15%.

Happy Memorial Day and be safe,
